Copy a file in Windows 95 using Windows explorer
Do one of the following:
1) Use Windows Explorer
a) Open 'Windows Explorer'
b) Click on the file to be copied in the right Explorer window.
c) Return to the left Explorer window and locate the folder or drive to receive the file. DO NOT CLICK ON THIS FOLDER. (The original file will remain on display in the right window.)
d) Do one of the following:
1] Right-drag the file
a] Right-drag the file to the left window. (A popup menu appears when the mouse button is released.)
b] Select 'Copy Here'.
2] Drag-and-drop the file into the desired destination window.
NOTE: Use only if copying the file to a different disk or drive. By default, drag-and-drop will MOVE a file located on the same disk but COPY a file located on a DIFFERENT disk or drive.
2) Copy a file onto the Desktop
a) Open the window containing the file to be copied or locate the file on the desktop.
b) Right-drag the file onto the appropriate desktop folder. (A popup menu appears when the mouse button is released.)
c) Select 'Copy Here'.
3) Use the keyboard
a) Press CTRL and click on the file to be copied.
b) Drag the copy to the desired destination.
4) Copy a file to a diskette
a) Insert a diskette in the drive.
b) Open 'My Computer' or 'Windows Explorer'.
c) Select the file to be copied.
d) Do one of the following:
1] Use the File menu:
a] Select 'Send to' from the 'File' menu.
b] Select '3-1/2 Floppy A' or other drive listed for the floppy drive.
2] Use the file's popup menu.
a] Right-click on the file.
b] Select 'Send to' from the popup menu.
c] Select '3-1/2 Floppy A' or other drive listed for the floppy drive.
